Block Tales Beginner Guide

Block Tales is a Roblox turn-based RPG with active defend timing. This page covers the basics—battle flow, cards, currencies, chapter order, and habits that make the first hours easier.

How battles work

Each turn you might attack with your sword, use a ball, spend SP on skills, Focus to build NRG, Defend with timing, or use food items. Defend is the skill ceiling: press as attacks connect to cut damage dramatically.

NRG fuels big moves, SP governs skill access, HP is your life bar. Shops sell food that restores HP/SP mid-fight—buy before bosses.

How cards work

Cards passively change your build. Each costs BP (Build Points) up to your deck limit. 0 BP cards like HP Finder and SP Finder are free value. Call Cards cost 4 BP and 10 SP to fire but can swing a boss phase—unlock them later, do not stress early.

BUX vs TIX

BUX are one-time world collectibles (49 total). TIX drops from battles and refuels your shopping budget. Need a checklist? Head to the BUX hub.

Chapter order

Play Prologue → Chapter 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → Demo 5. Each chapter hides BUX and optional fights—slow down if you are a completionist.

Super bosses like Supreme Mosquito (Chapter 2) and Finn McCool (Chapter 4) are optional. Skip on your first run if you are under-geared.

Starter tips

  • Talk to every NPC—Jim the Accountant in Roadtown gives free pizza.
  • Keep 0 BP cards equipped; they never hurt your budget.
  • Practice defend timing on weak mobs before Cruel King.
  • Do not sell your sword—cards care which blade you wear.
  • 0 XP? Remove Thick Skull from your deck.
  • Chapter 3’s Dream World is four bosses in a row—pack extra food.
